The Senior Team is our highest level group. Training is available
up to 11 times per week. Within this group, we will provide specific
training plans for individuals whose primary events range from
the 50 to the 1500 and all strokes. (No one size fits all practices!)
Some seniors may train 6 times a week, some, up to 11. All decisions
are made between the athlete, Coach John and the parent. Selection
to this group is entirely at the discretion of Coach John. Dryland
training is included in this practice program. There will be a
maximum of 20 athletes selected for this group.
Our Age Group Team ranges in age from 7 to 14/15 years of age
and is our intermediate group for training. We expect athletes
in this group to come to practice between 4 to 6 times a week.
Practice generally will be for two hours a session, but at some
times of the year, we may train 90 minutes instead. Some dryland
training is included for this group. There will be a maximum of
30 athletes accepted into this group.
Our Stroke School Team is our entry level for competitive swimming,
right after our Learn to Swim program (which is conducted concurrently
with our competitive program, in a shallow pool adjacent to the
main training pool). It meets from 5-6 PM for one group and from
6-7 PM for a second group. There will maximally be 20 people in
each one hour group. We expect athletes in this group to attend
a minimum of 2 times per week and work towards 5 practices a week
over the first two years they are in the program.
